Web search engines may uncover journal ranking information. For example, try a Google search on "top *" and "[discipline name] journals." A case in point is the following example: "top * marketing journals" would retrieve the "top ten marketing journals," the "top ranked marketing journals," and the "top tier marketing journals."
Also note that the latest edition of Evaluation of Library Collections, Access and Electronic Resources: A Literature Guide and Annotated Bibliography by Thomas Nisonger (Z 687 N57 2003) has a chapter on journal rankings, pp. 207-230 (located in ref desk files).
We do not own ISI's Journal Citation Reports, either online or in print. UCSD owns the print version. See Journal Citation Reports
Impact factors can be calculated in various ways. The easiest way to do this is to go into ISI Web of Science, divide the number of times a journal is cited in a particular year by the number of articles published in that journal for that time year and the subsequent three years, and the resulting quotient is the impact factor. It is somewhat more complex than this, but these are the basics. See the article in Library Trends, Winter, 2002, by Ronald Rousseau, entitled "Journal evaluation: technical and practical issues."
