CAMPUS ESCORT SERVICE

The CSO service is now primarily a "walking" escort service to "on-campus" locations only, and will operate from dusk until 11pm, rather than from dusk to dawn. The telephone number remains x46659 for the escort service. Students, faculty and staff who are on campus in the late evening and are concerned for their safety are encouraged to use this free service. Police officers will continue to provide escorts after 11pm as their time permits.

Because the library is open until 1:00am five days a week, we are partnering with Public Safety to provide an on campus escort service for persons leaving the library after 11pm and before 2:30am. A van will pick up on the half hour from the sundial in front of Hepner Hall. No calls are necessary for this service. Simply go to the sundial.

Please direct library users needing an escort between 11pm and 2:30am to this service. (Persons may want to wait in the library/RBR until shortly before a van is due.) There is a duress phone located within 50 feet of the sundial, near the Communications Building, for those who are concerned for their safety. Please make sure all persons working at public service desks are aware of these changes.
