Collection Development Committee


Functions: Advises the Head of Collection Development on the efficient and economical expenditure of the materials budget.

Library Faculty Academic Planning Committee

Functions: Lead the library faculty in planning and preparing the Academic Planning Report.

Membership: Three to five library faculty members appointed by the Library Faculty Executive Board.

Ad Hoc Subcommittee

Functions: Formed in December, 2007. This committee will explore alternative models for the organization of subject expertise within Library and Information Access. They will explore the areas of liaison work, collection development, reference, instruction, etc. and what the most effective models for providing these services are. Additionally, they will discuss how we can more effectively communicate the organization of our expertise to our users and how alternative models might impact the academic planning document that is currently being developed.

Library Faculty Events Committee

Functions: An ad-hoc committee appointed on an annual basis by the Library Faculty Executive Board. Their term will begin on January 1st and will terminate on December 31st of the following year. The Events Committee will be responsible for arranging the New Faculty Orientation each year and other events which may arise during their term which are deemed by the Library Faculty Executive Board to be appropriate for this committee.

Membership: Appointed annually by the Executive Board.

Library Faculty Executive Board

Functions: "Committee on committees," call meetings, represent the body, etc.

Membership: Consists of the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Member at Large, and immediate Past Chair of the library faculty. Elected annually by the library faculty. The election is held between April 15 and May 15. The term of office is June - May.

Functions: Peer review committee for reviewing and recommending library faculty members for reappointment, tenure, or promotion.
